On Monday, May 14, the American Heart Association recognized the fundraising efforts of Preferred Mutual Insurance Company’s (“Preferred Mutual”) 2018 Heart Run & Walk Team. The 125-person team raised an impressive $13,868 for the fight against heart disease and stroke.

According to the American Heart Association, someone dies from heart disease, stroke or another cardiovascular disease every 43 seconds in this country. It’s a cause that is near and dear to those at Preferred Mutual, and the many fundraising efforts – such as this year’s “flocking” where employees pay to have the offices of others bombarded with pink flamingos – create awareness in fun and engaging ways.

Preferred Mutual is a proud sponsor of America’s Greatest Heart Run & Walk, where employees also volunteer during the Telethon. This year’s event was held on March 3, 2018 at Utica College.
